Around Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria shows off its Alpine drama. The Partnachklamm is a narrow gorge carved deep into the rock, with the river thundering far below the path. A little further on, the Eibsee glows turquoise at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain.
